GETTING TO US
By Road:
Travel through Masindi town, which is a 220 kilometers from Kampala. The main route from Masindi (16 kilometers away) enters the Murchison Falls National Park through the Kichumbanyobo Gate that is 82 kilometers from the Park headquarters/Mubaku Gate. Kabalaega Wilderness Lodge is 2 Kilometers from this gate as you head towards Buliisa.
An alternative but longer and more scenic route follows the Masindi Buliisa road cutting across Budongo Central Forest Reserve and running for approximately 130 kilometers from Masindi to Murchison Falls National Park headquarters via the Bugungu Gate. Once at the park HQ, you can head towards the Mubaku Gate from whence Kabalega Wilderness Lodge is just 2 kilometers away.
Kabalega Wilderness Lodge can also be accessed via the Murchison Falls National Park Northern Gates of Chobe, Wankwar, and Tangi. These are reached from the Kampala-Pakwach Road which crosses the Nile at Karuma Falls Bridge 260km from Kampala. Once in the park, you can head towards the Mubaku Gate from whence Kabalega Wilderness Lodge is just 2 kilometer away.
By Air:
Kabalega Wilderness Lodge can also be reached by air using chartered aircraft from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi airfield on Entebbe-Kampala road. Airfields in the area include: Masindi, Chobe, Pakuba and Bugungu airfileds. We provide vehicle transfers from the respective airfields as follows:
$80 Per way from Bugungu Airfield 4-6 passengers with luggage
$100 Per way from Pakuba/Chobe Airstrip 4-6 passengers with luggage (includes ferry crossing fees)
$150 per way from Masindi Airstrip 4-6 passengers with luggage
